Shona walked down Main Street to visit her friend and wish him a happy birthday. Midnight was quickly approaching and as friends got together to take a celebratory shot for their friend, Shona noticed a new face at the end of the quiet bar and invited him down to partake in the festivities.

Ben had stopped in to Flynn's Pub after a long day of door knocking for that evening's House elections.

He had never stepped foot in that bar, a layover back to his home in Jersey City.

Little did either of them know, they're whole world was about to change.

After a few cocktails and great conversation, Johnny, took the opportunity to strongly suggest Ben go for it & ask Shona out on a proper date. (Owe you one, Johnny!)

They would go on an incredibly romantic date the following week, heading out into Jersey City and New York City.

Through so many travels and experiences, they've made some incredible memories and built such a strong bond, and there's only more to come!

September 19th 2026, Ben popped the question by the waterfront in Mystic, Connecticut and Shona couldn't say yes fast enough!
