Our wedding dress code is semi-formal. For women, cocktail dresses, midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, skirts with a blouse, or a nicer two-piece set are all great options. For men, suits, sport coats or blazers with dress pants, button-down shirts with slacks, or a dress shirt with a tie all work well. Since the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will include both indoor and outdoor spaces, we recommend choosing something you’ll be comfortable wearing throughout the evening. We just ask that guests skip jeans, shorts, sneakers, and other casual clothing.
Parts of the weekend will take place outdoors, so keep grass and uneven mountain terrain in mind when choosing shoes. Block heels, wedges, flats, or other comfortable options may be easier to navigate, but ultimately wear whatever you’ll feel comfortable in.
The ceremony is planned for outdoors, and the reception will have both indoor and outdoor spaces available.
We’re planning for an outdoor ceremony, but Sugar Hollow has covered outdoor options available if the weather doesn’t cooperate. The celebration will go on either way.
Early May in the area is usually mild, with daytime temperatures often in the 70s and evenings around the upper 40s to low 50s. Mountain weather can change quickly, though, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or layer—especially if you plan to spend time outside after dark. We’ll share a more accurate forecast closer to the weekend.
Everyone invited from your household will be listed on the invitation and reflected when you RSVP. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out before making plans.
Please let us know as soon as possible by emailing theblisswedding98@gmail.com so we can update our numbers.
Sugar Hollow is in Eastern Time, the same time zone as New York and the East Coast.
Yes. You’ll be able to share dietary restrictions and food allergies when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Yes! We’ll have an open bar during the reception.
Absolutely. Non-alcoholic drinks will be available throughout the celebration as well.
Yes. Sugar Hollow has onsite parking, including a large parking area near Overmountain Hall.
Sugar Hollow has some accessible facilities, including a ramp at the main entrance and a wheelchair-accessible bedroom and bathroom. Because the property is in the mountains, some areas and terrain may still be more difficult to navigate. If you have mobility concerns or need accommodations, please email us at theblisswedding98@gmail.com so we can help plan ahead.
Cell service very limited around Sugar Hollow and throughout the surrounding mountain area. Wi-Fi is available inside the buildings on the property through Starlink, but you shouldn’t expect reliable service while outdoors or driving nearby. We strongly recommend downloading directions, maps, and anything else you may need before heading to Sugar Hollow.
We will be having an unplugged ceremony, so please keep phones and cameras put away while we’re getting married. We want everyone fully present with us—and we promise our photographer has it covered.
Absolutely! Once the ceremony is over, feel free to share in-the-moment photos and videos on Snapchat, Instagram Stories, or similar short-form posts throughout the evening. For more permanent or polished posts—especially photos of us or the wedding itself—we ask that you wait until we’ve had a chance to share first.
Yes. The reception will flow between indoor and outdoor spaces at Overmountain Hall, so you won’t be stuck outside all evening.
