The Unknown Beginning
In Fairview Hospital, early in the morning on November 28, 1994, Meg came quickly into the world, completing the O'Neill family of four. About 6 hours later, Charlie - as his family would call him - was born, Sue and Chuck's first son. Although we didn't know it at the time, 28 years later these two would meet and fall in love. Here is the story of how that happened.

The Bumble Match
Our story officially began on Bumble on June 12, 2023. Meg made the first move, something Chuck still loves to remind everyone about! She messaged Chuck to ask about his weekend. He quickly replied that he had gone jet skiing with his brother - a response that immediately caught her attention. She loved that he had done something adventurous and spent time with his brother. It was a great first impression. From there, the conversation flowed effortlessly, and they found themselves ready for a date!
July 7, 2023 | Western Reserve Distillery
The First Date
Chuck asked Meg on their first date. He suggested they meet for a drink (or three!) at Western Reserve Distillers in Lakewood and she loved his initiative and location selection (bonus points). He was there early, margarita in hand, when Meg arrived (extra bonus points). Meg remembers thinking Chuck had such a great smile. Chuck remembers Meg’s eyes and was impressed by her drink order - an off-menu gin gimlet. The date was a 10/10 and by the end, they couldn’t wait to see each other again.

Falling In Love
We love an adventure, whether it’s right in our own backyard or halfway around the world! From morning coffee at our favorite local spots and trying new restaurants around town to celebrating Christmastime in the city, summer getaways to Spain, England, and Ireland, and ski trips to Vermont and upstate New York, we’re always finding new places to explore and memories to make. No matter where we go or what we are celebrating, our favorite part is experiencing it all together - and falling a little more in love with each adventure we take.
August 22, 2026 | Rocky River Park
The Engagement
Chuck started the morning with an early trip to the gym, but before heading out, he suggested we grab coffee and go to the park when he got back. Since this was a pretty typical Saturday morning for us, Meg didn’t think anything of it and rolled over for a little more sleep. When Chuck returned, Meg quickly threw on her workout clothes, and we headed out to try a new coffee shop before making our way to Rocky River Park. Once we arrived, Chuck picked out one of our favorite benches, and we settled in with our coffees to enjoy the beautiful morning. As we finished up and started getting ready to leave, Chuck said, “Before we go…” and got down on one knee and asked Meg to marry him. Meg couldn’t contain her excitement and literally jumped for joy before enthusiastically saying, “YES!” We spent the rest of the day celebrating this with our family and friends. BEST. DAY. EVER.
