Chapter One

A coffee shop in Austin

Claire and Michael first crossed paths in a coffee shop in Austin, the kind of place where the tables are close, the espresso machine keeps time, and one conversation can turn into another before anyone checks the clock. What could have been a quick hello became an easy exchange—warm, curious, and a little hard to leave. Austin gave them the setting, but the real beginning was the feeling that talking to each other already felt familiar.

Chapter Two

Enchanted Rock, no shortcut to the top

Their first date was a hike at Enchanted Rock, which was bold for a first date and, in hindsight, exactly right. Somewhere between the granite climb, the wide-open view, and pretending not to be too winded, they learned that they could laugh through effort and settle into quiet without it feeling awkward. By the time they came back down, the day had already become a story they would keep retelling.

Chapter Three

The everyday yes

After Enchanted Rock, the memorable parts were not always dramatic. It was the ordinary rhythm that made things feel real: another coffee, another drive through Austin, another meal where neither of them wanted to rush the check. They kept choosing each other in small, steady ways until the future stopped feeling like a far-off idea and started feeling like something they were already building.

Chapter Four

Sunset on South Padre Island

Michael proposed at sunset on South Padre Island, with the sky shifting gold and pink over the water. The moment felt calm in the best way—just the ocean, the light, and the question that had been quietly gathering meaning for a long time. Claire said yes, and the beach that evening became the place where the next chapter took shape.

Chapter Five

Toward Knutson Farm

When Claire and Michael imagined their wedding, they kept coming back to the same things: being outside, feeding people well, making space for family and friends, and choosing a place that felt warm rather than fussy. Knutson Farm in Dripping Springs gave them all of that—Hill Country air, rustic garden texture, and room for a weekend that feels like them. This June, they get to gather the people who carried them here and begin married life under the Texas sky.

From a coffee shop in Austin to a farm in the Hill Country, the best part has always been how easily we found our way back to each other.
